- i whooped this semester’s ASS, save the kind of crappy and super rushed frame job i did for my workshop crit. i just can’t cut mats to save my life.

seven down, one to go.

- i’m shopping in thrift stores for christmas, due to my tight budget. i don’t know why i never thought of this before, thrift stores are awesome.

- i love hot chocolate. especially during the holidays.

- oh yeah, i’m moving into a studio loft. sweeeeet. i can’t wait to decorate and entertain guests.

i know i said i was done being personal, but that got boring real quick.

i feel it’s good to look at yourself and say a few things about you in all honesty every once in a while. whether it be trivial or mind-blowing, it’s just good to be cognizant and self-aware of who you’ve become. i’ll start and then it’s your turn, tumblrverse.

1.) i dyed my hair brown, saying it was for fun (it was also slightly accidental). that’s a lie. i did it because i am aware that i’m about to graduate and need to be taken seriously. i didn’t think a mop of messy blonde curls coupled with a bubbly/nerdy personality would help me there. but once i did it, i hated it. i instantly felt like a bland, boring version that slightly resembled me, even though everyone liked it. it was like i was my evil twin or something. i’m bringing back the blonde tonight. while dying it, i decided i will never again give up something i love (blonde mop) for the sake of pleasing others. cause fuck em, that’s why.

2.) on that note, i realized i don’t do things soley because it’s what someone else wants me to do. i can’t be made to do anything i don’t truly want to. maybe i shouldn’t be so stubborn. stubborn is counterproductive and invites comparisons to donkeys. no thank you.

3.) i still kind of want to be a rock star. i have since i was a wee toddler. i wanted to be the chick who sang in “paradise by the dashboard light” (i know, right?) or janis joplin. i have a vision of just rocking out in front of a lot of people and wearing a ziggy stardust-meets-jenny lewis getup. or maybe like alison mosshart in a blonde wig.

4.) after the holidays, i fall into a crippling depression. everything is dead in the winter and it plants a lot of horrible theoretical situations in my head about losing loved ones and dying alone. also, poo seems to always hit the fan in the winter for me. finally, it gets to a point where i don’t want to go outside or see anybody. i barely made it out intact two winters ago and the last one was only a slight improvement (to put this in context, last winter i was nearly raped.) i refuse to let that happen this winter. this winter, i will explore the world as i always do; without fear. perhaps a sturdier coat will help matters this time around. i’ll get on that.

5.) and finally, i think……i love lady gaga. THERE, I SAID IT. i fought it for a long time because pop music almost instinctively sucks, but i just can’t deny it anymore. i love the crazy broad. i totally agree with her that she is a performance artist with her shows. Some of her stuff looks like it was pulled out of a matthew barney installment. referring back to #3, she gets to dress like a crazy person and people love her for it. if i started wearing unitards, giant hair-bows and carried around a cup and saucer everywhere i went, people would hate the shit out of me. god, i love her.
